The primary purpose of these activities is to encourage and enjoy simple dance movements. The activities, when practiced regularly, also develop teamwork and partner co-ordination skills.
Rhythm sticks and other musical instruments could be played by some children while others dance. Discussions and conversations should be held to focus on how the children felt during these activities.. Traditional dances from other countries are popular e.g. The Seven Steps from Norway. These dances also provide opportunities to develop for diversity-based themes.
The PINK level has been designed for pre-schoolers and for those beginning school. Adults are required to read any written messages and show the child what to do. For more information about our "Rainbow" approach, click here.
