The playing of dice games introduces randomness and probability issues – valuable skill developments that are often overlooked. Firm rules may have been set and strategies worked out, but chance and change play an important part.
To avoid dice running along the floor out of control number spinners could be substituted, or the dice placed inside a four-sided medicine bottle. Dice with up to 12 faces could also be used to extend the range of computations.
